The Acupuncture program prepares students to become a registered acupuncturist, subject to successful completion of the provincial enrolment examination for acupuncturists. Students receive the instruction needed to practice acupuncture competently based on the most recent national and international standards.
The Acupuncture program at MacEwan University is inviting applications for a sessional instructor to teach junior level courses beginning May 1, 2018. Candidates are expected to have a strong working knowledge of anatomy, body landmarks, body measurements, the 12 meridians, acupuncture point energetics and the techniques employed to ensure safe and effective needling of related acupuncture points. Candidates must be a Registered Acupuncturist (R.Ac) in the province of Alberta.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated teaching skills and be responsible for in full preparation and delivery of the courses in accordant to the collective agreement between the Faculty and the University. These duties may include, but are not limited to: the development of presentation media, development and supervision of lab activities, student evaluation and other instructional activities as required. Prior knowledge and use of learning management systems is an asset. MacEwan University uses Blackboard.
