The Department of Accounting and Finance, in the MacEwan School of Business, invites applications for one full-time probationary tenure track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing 1 July 2019. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All positions are subject to budgetary approval. The Department will consider applicants that have demonstrated expertise in teaching in the following subject areas: Canadian taxation, and intermediate and advanced financial accounting, and evidence of a research plan.
The School of Business has over 71 full-time faculty, over half of which have terminal degrees. The Department of Accounting and Finance has 18 faculty and offers an Accounting major in the Bachelor of Commerce. The accounting major is accredited by CPA Alberta.
Preferred candidates will have:
- a PhD (completed NLT Dec 2019) in Accounting or a related field;
- evidence of outstanding teaching ability, and a demonstrated primary commitment to undergraduate teaching;
- an ongoing program of academic research in Accounting or a related field;
- a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, or the willingness and ability to obtain a Canadian CPA designation within the first three years of the probationary period.
