Opportunity
We are seeking casual Grounds Worker for our Facilities Division.

The Facilities Division at MacEwan University is the largest service department. Facilities
designs, maintains and operates our campuses and grounds, ensuring that they are
secure, clean, functional, sustainable, and inspiring.

The Grounds Worker is responsible for maintaining the grounds area at all campuses. The candidate must be able to provide twenty-four-hour response to winter weather conditions. It is their responsibility to perform duties while adhering to all safety regulations and safe work practices. The successful candidate will be required to work Saturdays and Sundays.

 Operate landscaping equipment
 Able to safely work with chemicals
 Able to work outdoors in all types of weather
 Excellent mechanical aptitude
 Possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
 Effectively communicate verbally and in writing using the English language
 Be in general good physical condition and health
 Able to work flexible hours
 Knowledge of WHMIS and OH&S Regulations
 Knowledge of horticultural best-practices

Education
 Completion of Grade 12

Experience
 Minimum of one-year landscape maintenance or relevant educational background

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement. Please note; initial salary placement for external candidates is limited to the first five steps of the salary grid.
