Relief Child Care Worker I
Early Learning and Child Care Lab School

MacEwan University Early Learning and Child Care Lab School, Centre located at the City Centre Campus requires casual workers to provide coverage for staff vacation, illness or other absences.

The successful candidate must be able to articulate and model professional child care practice. In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting Educators in attending to children’s needs, protecting the health and safety of children and participating in play.

The ideal candidate must be able to relate comfortably to children, demonstrate a high degree of physical and mental stamina; and demonstrate flexibility, dependability, initiative, and a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

The successful candidate must have Provincial Child care Certification issued by the Alberta government and a Red Cross or St. John First Aid certificate, along with a minimum of one years’ work experience working with young children and families. Only applicants with the child care certification will be accepted.

Upon hire into this position, the successful candidate will need to provide a clear security clearance check with vulnerable sector search.

The centre is open from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday. The hours of work will vary and scheduled on an as needed or call-in basis.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement.
