The School of Social Work in the Faculty of Health & Community Studies invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1,2018, subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong teaching skills, a commitment to social justice, evidence of research and significant scholarly activity, and a willingness to engage in service to the program, university and community. Applicants will have knowledge in adult learning theory, curriculum design, and the capacity to teach in blended learning environments. Faculty members are required to teach a broad range of social work courses across the curriculum in both the BSW and Diploma programs.
Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Social Work with teaching experience in a BSW program and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program. Five years’ experience in teaching/social work practice or a combination of teaching and practice, and be eligible to be a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in Alberta.
