MacEwan University Department of Nursing Science is a preferred choice in undergraduate nursing education for central and northern Alberta. The BScN program fosters evidence-informed opportunities that are supported by advanced technology to inspire confident and credible practitioners. Critical social theory, humanism, logical positivism, and phenomenology are the four philosophical perspectives that provide a foundation for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. The Department of Nursing Science in the Faculty of Nursing at MacEwan University invites applications for a full time limited term appointment, commencing July 1, 2018. The BScN program emphasizes development of a strong disciplinary knowledge base, diverse nursing practice skills, and demonstration of professional attributes. The program is designed to integrate and sequence fundamental nursing concepts and theory for individuals, families, groups, populations, and communities within diverse health and illness experiences.

All applicable areas of expertise and specialization will be considered; however we are especially interested in applicants with advanced knowledge in Indigenous ways of knowing, knowledge development, and/or intersectionality.

Preferred candidates will hold an undergraduate degree in nursing and a graduate degree in nursing or related field. Applicants should demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching.

Requirements include previous teaching experience in nursing (preferably in a post-secondary learning environment) and a minimum of 5 years of registered nursing practice experience. Active licensure or eligibility for licensure with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta is required.
