The Capital Planning & Asset Management department at MacEwan University has an exciting opportunity for the hire of an Analyst position. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the coordination, preparation and analysis of financial information and reports pertaining to all aspects of asset management (including but not limited to capital asset working papers, inventory records, asset replacement analysis). The incumbent will also perform comprehensive financial analysis of various data, investigate discrepancies and identify problems, compile, coordinate and prepare detailed schedules and reports. In addition, the incumbent is a key participant in the asset disposal process and provides financial analytical and investigative ad hoc support as required by management in Financial Services on special projects.
The ideal candidate would possess strong problem solving, analytical, investigative, organizational and time management skills, be detail oriented, and exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills. The successful candidate will also have an intermediate level of experience using Microsoft Excel and be experienced with modelling and complex spreadsheets and databases.
Applicants should have a degree in Finance or Accounting in the final stages of professional accounting designation, along with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a mid to large size computerized accounting environment. Equivalencies may be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in PeopleSoft applications specifically the Asset Management module.
