MacEwan University is currently recruiting for a Peace Officer. The incumbent will be responsible for performing security functions, such as campus preventative patrols; respond to alarms and emergency conditions; perform access control functions; document all activities and incidents; investigate client complaints, perform traffic control functions, enforce provincial legislation authorized by their appointment, manage adverse behavior by the general public, and deliver prevention programs to the campus community. This is a full-time continuing position.
The successful candidate must provide excellent customer service to the staff, faculty, and the public. In addition, excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to use the computer and Microsoft Office will allow the candidate to be successful in this position.
Candidates must be a graduate of a police/peace officer program recognized by the Alberta Solicitor General's office that complies with being appointed/authorized to be a community peace officer in the Province of Alberta. A current First Aid certificate and ICS 100, ICS 200 level training is required. Applicants who are not current Peace Officers must have two years' experience as a security guard and obtained successful completion of physical training standards. Candidates must possess a valid class 5 Alberta Driver’s License with a good driving record with no more than four (4) demerit points.
