Front Desk Team Lead (Internal Applicants Only)

Reporting to the Manager, Guest Services the Front Desk Team Lead is the first point of contact and is responsible for providing front line service to the campus community, residents, and guests. This position is also responsible for assisting the Manager, Guest Services with recruiting, training, scheduling and supervising of Front Desk Associates. This is a temporary 15-month term position. At this time, this competition is open to internal applicants only.
A high degree of flexibility, confidentiality, the ability to anticipate and adapt quickly to changing priorities in an environment of continuous change are important components of this position. The residence front desk is complex and requires the ability to manage multiple deadlines, competing priorities and conflicting schedules. A high level of customer services is expected when communicating with University staff, students, guests, vendors and contractors. This position requires professionalism and precision. The position requires the ability to act independently using sound judgement and strong decision-making skills. Workloads are heavier at peak periods.
The successful candidate will possess excellent and well-demonstrated verbal, written, and inter-personal communication skills. Experience with and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The successful candidate will be a self-directed individual who is able to work independently, be proactive, and prioritize a diverse workload. Attention to detail and accuracy is of the utmost importance. The ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with various situations in a professional, service-oriented, and tactful manner is required. Working knowledge of StarRez would be considered an asset.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service related position or in the hospitality industry is required. Supervisory experience and previous work in a college or university residence is preferred. Equivalencies may be considered.
