The Events and Database Assistant is responsible for coordinating with employers, academics, students and staff to support the development of experiential learning, skills and knowledge with the use of the MacEwanWorks database. As a subject matter expert for the use of MacEwanWorks database, this position will be responsible for guiding stakeholders through processes and day to day operations. This position will also participate in the management of career presentations and events hosted by Career Development and Experiential Learning (CDEL). This is a part time continuing position working 21 hours per week.
The successful candidate will possess the ability to build relationships and work in a collaborative environment. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are required. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of IT literacy with proficiency with Excel as well as attention to detail and accuracy when dealing with data. An analytical and methodical approach to problem solving and a proven ability to interpret, analyze and present data is essential. Strong knowledge and understanding of database design principles is required. The successful candidate must be able to handle confidentially information appropriately.
A minimum of a diploma in Business, IT, Project Management, or related field is required. Experience in database management, providing and developing training, and managing multiple priorities is required. Experience in a post-secondary environment would be considered and asset.
