MacEwan University’s Alberta College Campus Library (10050 MacDonald Dr.) requires a Campus Technician to provide technology and audiovisual support to campus students, faculty and staff. Duties include providing hardware and software support to library users on the PC platform and related applications, specifically Microsoft Office; assisting students with printing, photocopying and accessing networked University resources; checking in and checking out of audiovisual equipment using the Library circulation system; assembling specialized suites of equipment for specific user groups; performing minor audiovisual equipment maintenance; and liaising with City Centre Campus ITS staff on matters relating to technology and audiovisual equipment. Occasional back up for classroom and campus lab support and basic library services is also required.
This eight-month part-time position begins September 4, 2018. The incumbent will work approximately 16 hours per week; Monday to Thursday, 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
We require an individual who is very service orientated and enjoys interacting with English as an Additional Language and international students of diverse cultures. We also require that this individual work well without close supervision, be motivated and proactive in staying abreast of University technology initiatives and developments. The ability to work in a team environment, communicate effectively with students and staff and conduct job duties with professionalism and courtesy is an essential and key component of job requirements.
Candidates should have a technology related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution. Training can be in computer systems technology, audio visual, or multi-media. A minimum of one-year experience in providing end-user technical or audiovisual support is required.
