Sessional Instructor, English as an Additional Language

In support of faculty professional development, unique and enhanced services are provided through the Centre for the Advancement of Faculty Excellence (CAFÉ).

English as an Additional Language provides a full range of reading/writing and listening/speaking courses that support diverse learning in developing their academic English for further post-secondary education. These courses are offered in an exciting university environment with quality instruction and individualized attention to help ensure success.

Applications are invited for sessional EAL positions in the Department of English as an Additional Language to teach a combination of Intermediate and Academic reading and writing as well as listening and speaking courses.  Courses are offered daily in 90-minute teaching blocks and follow the MacEwan University Calendar.  We are currently seeking candidates with recent experience and qualification to teach in the areas listed above. 

Requirements to teach in English as an Additional Language includes a university degree, minimum of TESL Canada Level One Professional certification or the equivalent as well as experience teaching adult learners.   Candidates should possess strong practice knowledge and skills; and enthusiasm for teaching adult learners who are focused on academic preparation.
