The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the area of Databases or Software Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2019, subject to final budgetary approval.

The successful candidate will teach senior courses in their area of expertise, teach introductory computer science courses, pursue academic scholarship, and engage in service to the university.

The Department of Computer Science at MacEwan University is grounded in a commitment to teach fundamental computer science while providing a deep understanding of the ever-changing technology that shapes our world. Applicants should speak to their readiness to teach courses at 100 and 200-level (as listed online) as well as to courses they wish to develop in their area of expertise. MacEwan University is a highly collaborative institution and comfort in working with other departments and disciplines is an asset.

Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant area of expertise and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program that provides opportunities for undergraduate research projects.
