Senior Financial Analyst (18 - 24 Month Term Position)

Opportunity

The Financial Services Department of MacEwan University is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst, Capital Planning & Asset Management. Reporting to the Manager, Capital Planning & Asset Management this position is responsible for the coordinating, preparing and analysis of financial information and reports for decision support in the area as well as staff supervision. Specific responsibilities include preparing quarterly and annual audit working papers; reviewing and approving monthly asset reconciliations; coordinating and performing system testing for the Capital Planning & Asset Management area. This position is also responsible for coordination of university wide computer deployments. This is a full-time 18 to 24-month term position (maternity leave coverage).

Skills

The successful candidate will have strong problem solving, investigative and analytical skills as well as excellent organizational skills. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Applicants should have the ability to assess priorities, identify problems and recommend solutions. Applicants must demonstrate an ability to supervise employees and provide ongoing support and coaching. Database knowledge and experience specifically with PeopleSoft Asset Management module would be considered an asset. In addition, the successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be team oriented as this position interacts with a variety of university stakeholders.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a professional accounting designation and a minimum of 5 years accounting experience within a mid to large size organization. Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
