The university’s Faculty of Nursing includes the Department of Nursing Science that offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree; the Department of Psychiatric Nursing that offers a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN), and a Psychiatric Nursing Diploma; and the Department of Interprofessional Education and Simulation Learning which houses two centres. The Centre for Professional Nursing Education offers a mosaic of innovative continuing education programs grounded in evidence-based practice and responsive to a dynamic health care environment. The Clinical Simulation Centre is 27,000 square feet of authentic clinical spaces that set the stage for students to practice skills and critical thinking in a realistic learning environment.
The Department of Psychiatric Nursing in the Faculty of Nursing invites applications for an Administrative Support staff member in its Edmonton office. Reporting to the Department Chair, this position provides support to the Chair and faculty members. Responsibilities include: general office administration; preparation of documents; arranging meetings and maintaining calendars; providing administrative support for department council and its committees, including preparation of agenda packages and minutes; liaising with Ponoka campus; management of records; distribution of information; and reception and direction of queries from students and others.
Applicants must have demonstrated proficiency with all Microsoft Office applications and an ability to learn and work with other software programs. The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to complete tasks. Experience in a post-secondary setting, experience providing administrative support to committees, and familiarity with PeopleSoft applications would be assets.
Candidates must hold a post-secondary Office Administration diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years of office experience.
