The Department of Institutional Analysis and Planning (IAP) has an exciting opportunity for a new position of Team Lead, Analysis. IAP’s core activities center on gathering data, interpreting and accurately reporting data from multiple sources, supporting academic initiatives of the institution, and contributing to strategic planning initiatives. Reporting to the Associate Vice-President, Planning & Analysis and Registrar, the Team Lead would perform functions of a research analyst while being responsible for supporting and supervising the staff members and functions of IAP.

The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of the complexities of analysis and be able to successfully determine the viability of potential response to data and survey requests. Additionally, the candidate will have a strong understanding of the nuances of University reporting requirements and timing and understand the importance of the various aspects of data reporting and collection.

Responsibilities of the Team Lead – Analysis position include, but are not limited to:

•    Coordinating and consulting with University leaders to determine institutional needs related to data gathering and analysis
•    Developing and maintaining good working relationships with various internal and external groups and individuals
•    Designing research projects and survey instruments to address the competing needs of the internal and external groups
•    Supervising and monitoring the administration and collection of paper and online surveys
•    Ensuring the accurate and complete entry of survey data using appropriate software, data analysis, and interpretation
•    Presenting any survey results in a comprehensive and concise way that is understandable and useful to a variety of users
•    Allocating work assignments, time reporting, and schedule management for reporting positions within IAP

To carry out the functions of this position effectively, strong time-management, problem-solving skills, and leadership abilities are imperative. The candidate will be able to effectively communicate with internal and external groups, while prioritizing the groups competing demands.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an institutional research office in a post-secondary setting is required.
