The Faculty of Fine Arts and Communications is seeking a Senior Manager of Business Operations. As a member of the Faculty management team, the Senior Manager of Business Operations is accountable for the effective operation of administrative services for the Faculty, which includes providing leadership and direction for academic support services; theatre and box office operations; and an art gallery. The Senior Manager is responsible for providing advice, analysis and information to the Dean regarding operational planning and administration; compliance and reporting requirements; and overall operational effectiveness and efficiency. The Senior Manager works closely with the Dean and Associate Dean to develop strategic plans and to manage and administer fiscal, physical and human resources.
Skills and experience
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of senior management responsibilities in a range of operations; will have superior problem-solving and human resource management skills; and will work well in a collaborative setting. This position requires department budget management experience; and the ability to administer collective agreements and institutional policies effectively. A working knowledge of PeopleSoft or a similar enterprise system would be an advantage. Experience working in a university environment and an appreciation for the arts and arts education is an asset.
Graduate degree in business or management and a minimum of 5 years of experience leading human resources and administrative operations at a senior level. Some equivalencies may be considered.
