The Massage Therapy program offers a unique blend of scientific theory and clinical practice. It offers a comprehensive clinical education that develops well-rounded massage therapists able to practice in a wide range of medical and therapeutic environments.
The Massage Therapy Diploma Program require a sessional instructor to teach MTST 151, Research Literacy for Massage Therapists. This is a first-year introductory course for massage therapy students. The basic components of research literacy are covered in this course. Students locate, evaluate and discuss research and professional literature in the context of massage therapy practice. The application of evidence-informed treatment practices and planning to enhance patient care is a major focus.
Instructors are responsible for preparing lecture materials such as power point presentations or related media, as well as creating and grading quizzes, tests, and assignments. Instructors will be expected to utilize the MacEwan online learning environment, Blackboard Learn, throughout the term.
Candidates should possess research experience in a health care field and be familiar with research related to CAM modalities such as massage therapy.
