Specific Duties and Accountabilities

The Accounts Receivable & Ancillary Services department has an exciting opportunity to for an Accounting Technician II – Student Receivables. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for student refunds, third-party contract set-up and invoicing, as well as applying professional development funding. The incumbent will take pride in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of student accounts and acting as a point of contact for student inquires. This position will be assigned other ad hoc duties and accountable for helping the team meets its objectives.

Skills and Abilities
Applicants should possess strong analytical, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills as well as being detail oriented. The ideal incumbent will also exhibit excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a robust customer service background. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, self-directed and deals diplomatically with issues or concerns. To be successful the incumbent must adhere to confidentiality agreements and maintaining privacy of personal information. The preferred incumbent will have intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience working with PeopleSoft would be an asset.

Qualifications
Applicants must have a post-secondary diploma in accounting or a related discipline (equivalencies will be considered). The incumbent should also have at minimum three (3) years’ experience within a mid to large size computerized accounting environment, preferably in Accounts Receivable.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association collective agreement. Please note; Article 22.1.1 (Grid Placement); initial salary placement for external candidates is limited to the first three steps of the salary grid.
