Learning Materials Specialist (Internal Applicants Only)

The Learning Materials Specialist is responsible for the purchasing and inventory control of learning materials, including new and used texts, reference and general interest books, and special orders for resale at MacEwan Bookstores at all campuses. This position collaborates with faculty to ensure accurate and timely provision of learning materials and is crucial to student success.
- Ability to make independent, sound decisions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well with limited supervision
- Strong computer skills, including competency in using bookstore operating system and college student system
Post-Secondary Degree in Business, Supply Chain management or equivalent with 3-5 years working within an academic environment. An understanding of MacEwan University programs including alternate delivery formats for learning material. Knowledge of the complexities in the purchasing of textbooks, trade books and related merchandise would be an asset.

This position is included under the MacEwan Staff Association Collective Agreement. Please note; initial salary placement for external candidates is limited to the first five steps of the salary grid.
