Senior Advisor, Procurement and Contracts

The Department of Expense, Procurement and Contract Services is currently hiring two Senior Advisors. The Senior Advisor, Procurement and Contracts is responsible for the development and execution of procurement and contracting related strategies and processes to meet the widely varying needs of the stakeholders across the university. This position advises on and seeks opportunities to leverage purchases to achieve the best overall value for university expenditures on goods and services while adhering to legislative and policy requirements for public procurement. Responsibilities include facilitation of competitive bidding processes including; bid document development, bid solicitation and evaluation, contract negotiation, contract document development and advisory services to MacEwan contract sponsors/owners regarding establishing key performance indicators for measuring supplier/contractor performance.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities
High level skill in using computers including experience with standard business applications including; Microsoft Office, e-mail, Google suite, etc.
Experience in developing business processes and facilitation of process improvement initiatives
Interact with other within the team demonstrating a focus on integrity, accountability, and respect
Minimum of 10 years related experience in Purchasing/Supply Management is required, preferably within the public sector.
Minimum of 5 years organizational subject matter advisory experience is desirable.
Formal training in Business (contract law), supply management and/or or procurement in public sector environment is desirable. A Supply Chain Management Professional designation (SCMP) or equivalent designation in public procurement is desirable.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
