The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2020 subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate will have expertise in clinical and/or counselling psychology and be able to teach courses that introduce students to topics in mental wellness and illness as well as more advanced and applied courses in the field. Candidates with expertise that would enable teaching and scholarship in cultural or evolutionary psychology, social and emotional child development, or history of psychology should also outline that in their application. The candidate will have a track-record of research productivity in clinical or counselling psychology. The Department of Psychology emphasizes the importance of opportunities for undergraduate scholarship, and the successful candidate will engage in research that facilitates student involvement.
Preferred candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Psychology from a CPA- or APA-accredited clinical or counselling program and will demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program that will include the training of honours students and other undergraduate researchers.
