Assistant Professor, Data Analytics

The Department of Decision Sciences in the School of Business at MacEwan University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Data Analytics commencing on July 1, 2020. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All positions are subject to budgetary approval. The department will consider applicants that have demonstrated expertise in teaching in Data Analytics or related disciplines, and evidence of a research plan.

Candidates are expected to possess demonstrated potential to publish and present their research while achieving teaching excellence in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics.
The Decision Sciences Department has 15 full-time faculty members, offering a Bachelor of Commerce major in Supply Chain Management and Business Management major in Insurance and Risk Management.
Preferred candidates will have:
- An earned Ph.D. (or completed no later than December 2020) in business intelligence, data science, or a closely related discipline
- Evidence of outstanding teaching ability, and a demonstrated primary commitment to undergraduate teaching
- An ongoing program of academic research in business intelligence and data analytics (data mining, data-driven decision making, and management science);
- Professional/Industry experience in business intelligence and data analytics (data mining, data-driven decision making, and management science).
