Research Support Analyst

The Office of Research Services is currently seeking an experienced Research Support Analyst. The Research Support Analyst provides grants administration, ethics administration and system technical aid for pre/ post-award management within the Office of Research Services. The position is responsible for the maintenance and support for the functionality of the Grants Module in PeopleSoft along with database information systems used within the Office of Research Services. This position is a key role in the development of a variety of strategies to integrate research policy and practice through various activities to help achieve the goals of the research strategic plan.
Please note this is a term position with an anticipated start of March 2020 and end date of May 2021.

Excellent time management skills, ability to set priorities and work comfortably in a deadline-driven environment
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
Innovative and creative thinker
Sound editorial and documentation skills
Ability to work alone with little supervision and able to work effectively in a team environment
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the following areas:
Dealing with University policy and procedures
Demonstrated project management experience
Creating and working with data management systems (working knowledge of PeopleSoft and system upgrade processes would be considered an asset)
Strong knowledge of organizational and administrative processes
Prior experience working within a research office/institute (at a university level) with focus in implementation of various research initiatives and increasing awareness of scholarly activities within a university community
Experience in creating and maintaining various communication strategies
Prior relationship management skills (experience liaising with various departments within a complex organization) within a university environment and dealing with government reporting at a municipal, provincial and federal level. Ideal candidate would have experience with Tri-Council reporting/compliance requirements
An undergraduate degree (in a research-based discipline) along with training and experience in a post-secondary environment is required. If no post-secondary work experience is relevant, a Master's degree would be considered.
