The 48 space Early Learning at MacEwan (ELM) is the laboratory school for the Early Learning and Child Care Program (ELCC), as well as a fully operational accredited child care centre providing services to the University community as well as the broader community.
Early Learning at MacEwan (ELM) located at the City Centre Campus is currently recruiting for two Child Care Worker I positions. The successful candidates must be able to articulate and model professional childcare practice. In this position, the incumbents will be responsible for assisting Educators in attending to children’s needs, protecting the health and safety of children and participating in play.
The center is open from 7:15 am to 5:45 pm, Monday to Friday. The hours of work will vary between these times.
The ideal candidates must be able to relate comfortably to children, demonstrate a high degree of physical and mental stamina; and demonstrate flexibility, dependability, initiative, and a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
The successful candidates must have childcare certification in compliance with the Alberta Child Care Licensing Regulation as well as a current Red Cross or St. John First Aid certificate. A minimum of one years’ work experience working with young children and families is required.
Upon hire, the successful candidates will need to provide a clear Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector search.
