The Internal Grants Coordinator’s primary role is to facilitate the internal grants processes at MacEwan within the Office of Research Services. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Operations, this role will open internal grant calls, ensure that applicants are being moved through PeopleSoft efficiently, coordinate adjudication, and award or decline internal applications. This position also coordinates various research committees and their memberships; and awards such as the Board of Governors Chair. Additionally, this role is responsible for updating and creating policies, triaging of initial ethics applications, and special projects being taken by the Office of Research Services.
This position requires strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite software. Established leadership, facilitation, and client service skills are imperative. The successful candidate will exhibit exemplary communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), as well as excellent time management skills, the ability to prioritize, and work comfortably in a deadline-drive environment. Sound editorial and documentation skills are required. The ability to work alone as well as effectively in a team environment is crucial. Additionally, this role is best suited for a candidate who is innovative and a creative thinker.
An undergraduate degree in a research-based discipline along with training and five years’ experience in a post-secondary environment is required. A Master’s degree in a research related field may be considered relevant experience. Experience working in a university research environment would be preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the following areas:
1. Dealing with University policy and procedures
2. Demonstrated project management experience
3. Creating and working with data management systems (working knowledge of PeopleSoft and system upgrade processes would be considered an asset)
