Manager, Governance

Opportunity

MacEwan University is seeking an experienced Manager of Governance for our Faculty of Arts and Science.

Reporting to the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Science, the Manager of Governance will support the Dean & Associate Deans to ensure that governance processes operate in accordance with policy and other sources of regulation. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of appropriate structures, processes and guidance.

This position is also responsible for providing support to decision making bodies within the Faculty's bicameral governance structure, and in the execution of the MacEwan Faculty Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will also provide a bridge between the faculty & institution-level governance structures, and support the shared governance model with appropriate structures & processes

Qualifications

A university degree or equivalent in the humanities, social sciences, or business with over 5 years of progressively responsible experience in a governance and/or administrative role in a large institution is required. A Master’s degree and experience in a university environment is preferred.

The successful incumbent should have experience providing support and advice to senior administrative officials and/or executives and providing formal secretarial functions to an executive board or committee.
