The Department of Biological Sciences in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1st, 2021, subject to final budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will be a molecular biologist with experience in bioinformatics and genomic analysis.
The candidate must demonstrate excellence, or clear promise of excellence, in teaching both junior and senior undergraduate-level courses. The successful candidate will actively participate in curriculum development. The ability to teach advanced topics in molecular biology and genetics is required.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong research program that provides meaningful opportunities for undergraduate student participation, as well as build a broad external research network. The ability to attract external funding is desirable. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. (or evidence of near completion) in a relevant area of expertise, and will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and the development of an ongoing research program involving undergraduate students.
