MacEwan University is seeking an experienced Administrative Support III for our Faculty of Arts and Science for a replacement term appointment ending on April 30, 2021.
The Administrative Support III provides comprehensive, detail-oriented administrative support to the Dean, Associate Deans, and Directors of the Faculty in key tasks associated with scheduling, faculty promotion, and communications. This position also collaborates with the Manager, Governance in facilitating academic governance by ensuring materials are collected and organized and deadlines are met while providing support where required. The successful incumbent will be required to take minutes for Faculty Council and other Committees, as assigned.
Attention to detail, ability to problem solve, and effective time management skills are required attributes;
Well-developed organizational and time-management skills;
Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills;
Critical thinking with a strong focus on customer service and professionalism;
Ability to create processes;
High computer proficiency, including advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office; working knowledge in PeopleSoft is an asset;
Ability to multi-task, to handle frequent interruptions, and to work with minimal supervision under changing priorities;
Proactive and goal-oriented;
Ability to exercise judgment and discretion;
Ability to work independently as well as to take direction in a team environment.
At minimum, a two-year post-secondary diploma as well as a minimum of five years’ experience in an increasingly responsible administrative or relevant capacity is required. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a post-secondary setting.
A combination of education and experience would be considered.
