Opportunity


Reporting to the Associate Vice President Infrastructure, Planning and Management, the Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and maintaining improvements in productivity, quality, client relationships, and customer service.

The Quality Assurance Specialist acts as the subject matter expert for quality to manage the Facilities Quality Management System (QMS). Duties include but are not limited to maintaining, monitoring, and continuously improving Facilities QMS, develop and provide training to all new facilities employees on the QMS, maintain and monitor Facilities internal audit program. The Quality Assurance Specialist will be required to manage the registration to ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 including coordination of external registration audits.

The successful candidate will be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and possess the ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. This position performs a variety of complicated tasks and may lead and direct the work of others.

This role will also manage the safety program for the Facilities department which includes liaising with MacEwan’s Health and Safety department (HSE) to ensure compliance with Alberta occupational health and safety regulations and oversight of contractor safety practices for compliance with internal and external requirements. The Quality Assurance Specialist will also monitor and coordinate the department’s review of legislative and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in business, engineering, or science. A combination of education and experience may be considered
• Minimum 5 years prior experience managing a quality program, preferably in a service-based industry
• Experience in quality management systems, specifically ISO 9001
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a lead internal auditor, specifically ISO 9001
