Opportunity

Conference and Event Services is seeking an experienced event professional with supervisory experience to fill a one-year, maternity leave term position.  Supporting the team by providing event expertise and effective resource allocation is a key component of this role, as well as regular collaboration with all internal and external service providers to ensure efficient processes and systems are in place to deliver the volume and caliber of events expected.  The successful candidate will also be expected to deliver a portfolio of high profile, university events in conjunction with internal departments.  This role will be required to provide leadership to existing and new team members, as well as the Senior Manager as needed. 

This is a full-time term position for up to 14 months.

Skills

The successful incumbent must be highly organized and proficient with time management. They should also possess professional written and oral communication skills, diplomacy, as well as the ability to lead and mentor others. It would be considered an asset if the candidate possessed experience in Virtual Event platforms, Cvent, Social Tables, Encampus and PeopleSoft.

Qualifications


The candidate must possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Public Relations, Hospitality, or other related field.

A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the event industry, as well as a minimum of one year in a leadership role.

Position Requirements

Some evenings and weekends may be required.
