Opportunity

Reporting to, and acting as a key advisor to, the President and Vice-Chancellor, the Vice-President, Finance and Administration (VPFA) & Chief Financial Officer (CFO) plays an integral role in the strategic leadership and management of financial and administrative support services for MacEwan University, providing sound and progressive leadership over a diverse range of key institutional services.

The Vice-President serves as chief financial officer and plays a key role on the university’s Executive Council. In collaboration with the President, and working with members of the Executive Council, the Vice-President will ensure that the business and operations of the university are aligned with the university’s vision and the priorities identified within the university’s strategic framework. The Vice-President will also serve as a resource to the University’s Board of Governors, to provide information, support and advice, as well as to key contacts of the Board, including government, institutional partners and community organizations.

The Vice-President has a clear vision and the capacity to drive innovative change to advance the University’s position. This critical role also has the responsibility of overseeing the financial, accounting, fiscal aspects of operations, financial controls, supporting information systems of the university, and associated risk management, in order to ensure the current and long-term effectiveness and sustainability of these functions, in support of the university’s mission and strategic priorities.
