Opportunity

The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in cybersecurity at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commencing July 1st, 2022, subject to final budgetary approval. The successful candidate will preferably be specialized in cybersecurity or have the background and interest to teach senior courses in this area.

The Department of Computer Sciences at MacEwan offers a General Computer Science degree and specializations in database and interactive visualization, system and information security, and video gaming.

You must demonstrate excellence, or clear promise of excellence, in teaching both junior and senior undergraduate level courses. If successful, you will be expected to deliver the equivalent of six courses per year, as your regular teaching load, and actively participate in curriculum development, particularly for the systems and information security stream.

You will be expected to develop a strong research program, involving undergraduate students, to build a broad external research network, and to work to attract external funding.

The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related relevant area of expertise, and have demonstrated a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and an ongoing research program involving undergraduate students.
