Opportunity

MacEwan University is searching for a full-time non-recurring term Customer Service Representative I for our Sport and Wellness department. The Customer Service Representative I provide high-quality front-line service to MacEwan University Sport and Wellness guests in a friendly, welcoming manner that promotes a sense of belonging for all individuals and groups coming to the facility, including students, employees, and the public at large.

This is a three-month non-recurring term position.

Major responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and coordinating access into the facility

  • Responding to customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints

  • Managing the registration process for memberships, programs and services, includes the sale of pro-shop items

  • Conducting accurate financial transactions

  • Having a thorough understanding of the programs and services offered at Sport and Wellness and the ability to recommend appropriate services to meet patron needs

  • Facilitating facility and equipment set-up etc. for rentals, events and drop in usage

  • Collaborating with other departments

  • Providing laundry service, maintaining a safe facility and responding to emergency situations

Skills

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Good interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse range of clients and colleagues

  • Ability to respond well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and have excellent attention to detail

  • Ability to work without direct supervision

  • Flexible work hours; may involve shift work, rotating schedules, evenings, and weekends

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary is not required but beneficial if in the fields of physical education and/or public relations

  • Experience in customer service, financial transactions and the fitness and physical education fields

  • Experience with IntelliManager software an asset

  • Current in the following certifications:

  • Standard First Aid/CPR C

  • Oxygen Therapy Certificate

  • Automatic External Defibrillator

Position Requirements

  • Required light to moderate physical effort including bending and lifting to 40 pounds
