The Department of Computer Science in the Faculty of Arts and Science invites applications for a full-time tenure-track appointment in the areas of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or theoretical computer science at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1, 2022, subject to final budgetary approval. Strong candidates in fields other than those listed above are also encouraged to apply.
The Department of Computer Sciences at MacEwan offers a General Computer Science degree and specializations in database and interactive visualization, system and information security, and video gaming.
You must demonstrate excellence, or clear promise of excellence, in teaching both junior and senior undergraduate level courses. If successful, you will be expected to deliver the equivalent of six courses per year, as your regular teaching load, and actively participate in curriculum development.
You will be expected to develop a strong research program, involving undergraduate students, to build a broad external research network, and to work to attract external funding.
To be considered for the position, you must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science (or a related relevant area of expertise) or demonstrable evidence of impending completion of a Ph.D. You must also demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching, student mentorship, and an ongoing research program involving undergraduate students.
