Everything you do at work, from how you get there in the morning to how many pages you print during a day, has an impact on the environment. By adopting simple, sustainable actions, we can reduce the impacts of day-to-day work at MacEwan University.
In partnership with SAMU, the Office of Sustainability has introduced the Green Impact program to help the university reach its sustainability goals. It's a great opportunity to make a difference while also engaging in a little friendly competition with your colleagues. During the pilot program in 2013/2014, 14 Green Impact teams, including 85 staff and faculty and 22 student volunteers, successfully completed nearly 700 sustainable actions.
How do I get involved?
Gather your friends and co-workers within your office or department and create a Green Impact team by registering online. As part of the Green Impact program, you'll receive an online toolkit containing ideas and actions aimed at creating a more sustainable workplace. Teams receive points by completing sustainable actions and will be recognized for their achievements at an awards ceremony in March.
Each team will receive ongoing support from the Office of Sustainability and will be matched with a student trained as a Green Impact Consultant to help them reach their goals.
What could Green Impact look like in your office?
