We sure packed a lot of exciting events and discoveries into the month of March. In case you missed it, we celebrated LGBTQ2S+ pride and promoted equity, diversity and inclusiveness. And we hoisted two major trophies — our Griffins women’s and men’s hockey teams each won their third straight ACAC championships.

Check out the gallery for a look at March in photos.

Building 5 to Allard Hall, we marched our hearts out to kick off MacEwan’s third annual Pride Week.
Despite its name, this event definitely wasn’t a drag… As part of Pride Week, we welcomed drag performers from the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose to hold court on campus.
The MacEwan United Nations Club hosted this year’s Alberta Intercollegiate Model UN (AIMUN) conference on nuclear disarmament. By the end of the weekend, a number of MacEwan participants were nominated for peer awards and the university’s Denmark delegation (represented by Sejal Tiwari, in the blue jacket on the far right, and Kiera Brown) was named “Outstanding Delegation.”
MacEwan ambassadors volunteered for kitchen duty — planning, preparing and cooking meals for families at Ronald McDonald House.
Social work students raised a blanket in MacEwan’s Welcome Centre in memory of missing and murdered Indigenous women.
Alyssa Antonio was among the School of Business students who volunteered to help teams from five Edmonton high schools prepare for the MacEwan Business Challenge, a day-long event that challenged nine teams to come up with and present a solution to a business problem.

MacEwan’s first-ever Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Week “wrapped” up with a turban awareness event. Volunteers educated curious passersby about turbans and demonstrated how to wear one.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a drone controlled by the brilliant minds of our computer science alumni! Local media came to see a special demonstration by the team of Alex Crowder, Stephen Doyle, Mark Reid and John Simmonds.
Dr. Shahidul Islam, associate professor in economics, gives a presentation as part of the Celebration of Scholarship, which recognized works published and released by faculty and staff during 2018.
Luck be a lady tonight! Theatre Arts and Production students brought to life the mythical New York City of Guys and Dolls. The musical comedy was the third and final production of the 2018/19 MacEwan theatre season.
