Bike storage and electric bike share
Bike storage
If you live in MacEwan Residence, you can park your bike in our indoor parking area, located on the main floor. Bike parking is free and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask for details at the front desk. Residence ID is required.
Electric bike share
Visit the front desk and take advantage of our no-cost bike share program. Available to MacEwan Residence students only, this service runs from March 15 to November 15, weather permitting. You can book an electric bike for up to four hours. Three bikes are available.
Earth-friendly initiatives
MacEwan Residence is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver building, which means it is a highly efficient building that adheres to principles of sustainability.
MacEwan University is committed to providing accommodations that reflect highly valued sustainability initiatives, such as recycling and conserving energy and water. Products like fluorescent lights, water-saving toilets, high-efficiency laundry machines and motion sensors are installed wherever possible.
Residence Shop
You can buy essential items such as notebooks and laundry detergent at affordable prices at the Residence Shop, located at the front desk. If you have suggestions for other items you'd like us to carry, let us know.
Sports equipment storage
Hockey equipment, lacrosse sticks, soccer balls—no need to have sports equipment taking up space in your room when you can use the sports equipment storage room. To access the sports equipment storage room, sign up at the front desk using your Residence ID. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge to residents.
Spring and summer storage
If you are moving out of residence at the end of the winter term, but know you will be returning in the fall, you can store your belongings in residence for the spring and summer months.
Items such as books, clothing, decor and bedding may be stored.
Space is limited—25 units in total—and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Storage lockers are 4 x 4 feet (1.2 x 1.2 m).
You are assigned a specific locker at the front desk.
All items must be stored in boxes or crates, clearly numbered (for example, 1 of 2, 2 of 2) and labelled with your full name and summer contact phone number.
Label each box on all sides.
After you have stored your items, you will not be able to access the locker until the date listed on the storage agreement.

Food Services
We provide the MacEwan community with fresh, healthy food options. Food carts, cafeterias, independent and chain outlets—you can find food across campus. Browse our website for hours, cuisine type and food offerings in each building on campus. Dining cards can be purchased and used at almost all of food services outlets on campus. MacEwan University’s library is a key source of information for students as they begin a research project, find and evaluate information and learn to properly cite sources. Research librarians can help students at various stages of the research process, and the library website contains useful information on various aspects of research and citation. John L. Sport and Wellness
MacEwan University's Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness is a recreation facility in downtown Edmonton that features fitness and aquatics facilities; spin, yoga and aerobics studios; and a three-court gymnasium. We serve MacEwan students and employees and the general public. Our facilities are available for rent by external groups.
