Services and extras
If you live in MacEwan Residence, you can park your bike in our indoor parking area, located on the main floor. Bike parking is free and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ask for details at the front desk. Residence ID is required.
Electric bike share
Visit the front desk and take advantage of our no-cost bike share program. Available to MacEwan Residence students only, this service runs from March 15 to November 15, weather permitting. You can book an electric bike for up to four hours. Three bikes are available.
MacEwan Residence is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver building, which means it is a highly efficient building that adheres to principles of sustainability.
MacEwan University is committed to providing accommodations that reflect highly valued sustainability initiatives, such as recycling and conserving energy and water. Products like fluorescent lights, water-saving toilets, high-efficiency laundry machines and motion sensors are installed wherever possible.
You can buy essential items such as notebooks and laundry detergent at affordable prices at the Residence Shop, located at the front desk. If you have suggestions for other items you'd like us to carry, let us know.
Hockey equipment, lacrosse sticks, soccer balls—no need to have sports equipment taking up space in your room when you can use the sports equipment storage room. To access the sports equipment storage room, sign up at the front desk using your Residence ID. Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no charge to residents.
If you are moving out of residence at the end of the winter term, but know you will be returning in the fall, you can store your belongings in residence for the spring and summer months.
Items such as books, clothing, decor and bedding may be stored.
Space is limited—25 units in total—and is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Storage lockers are 4 x 4 feet (1.2 x 1.2 m).
You are assigned a specific locker at the front desk.
All items must be stored in boxes or crates, clearly numbered (for example, 1 of 2, 2 of 2) and labelled with your full name and summer contact phone number.
Label each box on all sides.
After you have stored your items, you will not be able to access the locker until the date listed on the storage agreement.
