MacEwan Residence welcomes applications from students who will be not be attending MacEwan University. You may apply for the semester or semesters during which you would like to live in Residence. The application process varies for domestic (Canadian citizen or permanent resident) and international (entering Canada with a study permit or as an exchange student) students.
MacEwan Residence prioritizes applications from students attending MacEwan University. As such, Residence Services does not anticipate being able to offer spaces to new non-MacEwan applicants until the first week of August. Offers made by Residence Services are subject to availability and will be made in the order applications were received. All non-MacEwan applicants are required to submit documentation (upon offer) confirming acceptance to an accredited post secondary institution.
We are accepting applications for the upcoming semesters as follows:
|2018-19 Academic Year|
|Fall 2018 (September 2–December 22/18)||Open Oct. 2/17 until Dec/18|
|Fall/Winter 2018-19 (September 2/18–April 20/19)||Open Oct. 2/17 until April/19|
|12 month 2018-19 (September 2/18–August 23/19)||Open Oct. 2/17 until Nov. 20/19|
|Winter 2019 (January 3–April 20/19)||Open Oct. 2/17 until April/19|
Applications will be processed only for semesters that are open. As such, applicants must ensure they are applying for the correct time frame. Residence Services cannot transfer an application from one period to another and refunds will not be accepted; a new application and application fee will be required.
Study at NAIT. Live at MacEwan.
MacEwan Residence invites NAIT students to stay on campus. Follow the process for new or returning residents depending on your situation.
Application Process for Returning Residents
All current (both domestic and international) residents may apply for residence online.
Application Process for New Applicants
New domestic and international applicants may apply for residence online.
Be advised that MacEwan Residence does offer four different types of suites for you to choose from (bachelor, 2-bedroom, 4-bedroom, double studio). However, given the high demand for bachelor and 4-bedroom suites, priority is given to returning residents for these units. While it is not impossible for new residents to get assigned a bachelor or 4-bedroom unit, it is unlikely as there are few of these suites available and they are in high demand. Any suites remaining after returning residents have been assigned will be allocated to new residents based on the date of their application and any special accommodations requested. We encourage you to apply as early as possible to increase your chances of getting a bachelor or 4-bedroom unit.
