If a resident wishes to depart MacEwan Residence prior to the expiry of the Residence Agreement, they must submit a Request to Withdraw Form at least a month prior to moving out unless there are extenuating reasons.
Completing the Request to Withdraw Form does not terminate the Residence Agreement and/or release a resident from financial obligations to MacEwan Residence under the terms of the Residence Agreement; it is a notification to Residence Services of the resident’s desire to withdraw from residence. In all cases, residents who choose to depart MacEwan Residence prior to fulfilling their obligation to MacEwan Residence will be subject to fees and/or penalties for doing so.

Due to processes involved in move-outs such as cleaning and damage inspections, please allow MacEwan Residence 6-8 weeks to process security deposit refunds.

Come to the front desk to schedule a move-out appointment when you know you are departing (first come, first serve).
Make sure that your room is cleaned and that all your personal belongings are out before the appointment.
Make sure that all garbage and recycling is taken down stairs to the waste disposal room.
Accompany the staff member doing the move out appointment and make sure that you are ready to depart.
Take your completed copy of the inspection form to the Front Desk.
Hand in your keys and prox card at the front desk. Be sure to sign them back in on your student key registration card.
