Yonae is an advocate for diversity and inclusion at MacEwan and is passionate about creating a culture of consent and ending sexual violence on campus. She stands behind the philosophy that to succeed as one body we must support and uplift the voices of those that would otherwise be ignored.  Through the development of initiatives that support human rights, sexual violence prevention and education, Yonae hopes to create a campus that is safe, supportive and free from discrimination.

Roxanne believes that a world without sexual violence is possible and that each member of our community has a role to play in building that world. She develops and supports initiatives that strengthen our ability as a campus community to recognize, respond to and prevent all forms of sexual violence. Her greatest joy in this work is empowering students to become advocates for consent and healthy relationships within their own communities. Roxanne’s work is grounded in intersectional feminist analysis, a commitment to creating communities of care and support and a belief in the transformative power of education.
