Rainbow Crosswalk Painting
MacEwan University is proud to raise the rainbow and trans pride flags, and paint a series of rainbow and trans coloured crosswalks across campus to celebrate Pride Month in June.
A large rainbow cross walk on 109 street and 104 avenue will be created in partnership with the City of Edmonton. This will be the first rainbow crosswalk at a major intersection in Edmonton.
MacEwan's new trans crosswalks, to our knowledge, will also be the first such crosswalks displayed by a post-secondary institution in Alberta.
These crosswalks signal MacEwan’s commitment to actively embrace diversity and celebrate difference in all of its forms. All students, staff, and faculty should be welcomed and supported to be themselves. Our University is proud to support diversity, equity and human rights and we remain committed to building a campus culture of respect and inclusion.
Please join us to paint the rainbow on the crosswalk in front of the clock tower entrance on 107 street to celebrate Pride Month!
