Downtown Campus Strategy

More than 20 years ago, an abandoned corridor of Edmonton’s downtown was transformed into MacEwan University’s City Centre Campus. Since that time, the university has expanded its breadth of programming to become a leading undergraduate institution serving just over 19,000 full- and part-time students, the majority of whom are enrolled in degree-related programming.

In 2009 when the Board of Governors of MacEwan University put forward a plan to consolidate the university’s four campuses onto the City Centre Campus, they did so with the intention of maximizing what we do best – provide one of the best post-secondary student experiences in Canada.

As a hub of creative, scholarly and cultural activity, MacEwan University’s downtown campus strategy is a vision for an integrated community, yet one that reaches beyond the walls of the campus to build, share and contribute to the growth and prosperity of Edmonton and beyond.
