Carrie Hunting joined MacEwan University in September 2014 as the first Director, Faculty Relations. Carrie previously served as the Academic Freedom and Tenure and Policy Officer working with the Faculty Association at the University of Waterloo, and prior to that as the Director of the Office of the Provost and Faculty Relations at the University of Windsor. She brings over two decades of experience working with faculty, faculty associations, academic administrators and university administrative services staff in support of faculty, involving employment and labour relations matters. Carrie earned her BA in economics and her MBA at the University of Windsor.
As the Director, Faculty Relations, Carrie is the lead contact with the Faculty Association on employment matters and in advancing strategic direction for faculty relations as set by the Provost. She works closely with the Provost, the Deans and the HR staff to create a strong, positive faculty labour relations environment, works directly with the Associate Vice-President, HR, the University’s HR team and other university administrative services staff in the development of policy, procedures and other administrative requirements relative to faculty relations, is the lead in the maintenance of effective and mutually respectful relations with the Faculty Association and executive committee members, and advances the University’s strategic labour relations goals with respect to faculty.
