The centre provides comprehensive physical and mental health care, including disease prevention, health promotion, acute care and chronic care. The centre offers one-stop access to medical teams led by senior physicians, supported by primary care nurses, medical assistants and mental health professionals. The teams are supported by a full range of allied health disciplines including dieticians, pharmacists and referral screening coordinators.

You will be assigned to a family doctor on your first visit, and centre staff make every effort to book all your subsequent appointments with that doctor. Since this is a teaching clinic, you may see a family medicine resident who will be supervised by your doctor. Residents have finished medical school and are specializing in family medicine.

Griffins athletes will have timely access to sports medicine physicians, who will provide two to three sessions per week in the centre.
The MUHC is a collaboration between MacEwan University and the Department of Family Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. The centre is a first for Alberta: a clinical teaching space that educates and trains medical students and residents, doctors, nurses, medical assistants and other members of the health care team.
