Poverty is the most unignorable issue our community is facing today.

MacEwan University is kicking off another year of fundraising for the United Way Alberta Capital Region.

2020 Campaign Details

This year's campaign has three priorities, which reflect MacEwan’s commitment to student well-being and community engagement:

  1. Student mental health

  2. Community engagement

  3. Financial literacy

Each of these themes will be highlighted for a month in conjunction with specific events. More information is in the Message from the Campaign Committee.

Fill up The Pantry at SAMU

Kick off Event
The Pantry SAMU 2nd floor; noon to 1 p.m.
Join us for the kick off event as we Fill up The Pantry.

Feb. 10–12

Make Every Bean Count
Donations of beans, canned or dried

Feb. 13–14

Spread the Love
Donations of jams and jellies, spreads (e.g., nut butters, cream cheese), sauces

Feb. 17–19

Farm to Table
Donations of canned fruits, canned vegetables, canned meat

Feb. 20–21

Breakfast of Champions
Donations of cereal, breakfast bars, coffee, tea

Feb. 24–26

Soup to Nuts
Donations of canned soup, spices, hygiene products, baby food, rice, pasta, snacks, etc.

Feb. 24–28

Can display
Assemble a team and build a can display. Prizes to be awarded to the most creative display.

Feb. 28

Wrap-up event
Wrap-up, judging of the can display
