Note: Arrive at 11 a.m. to participate in some fun activities before Pride Week March officially starts at noon.
After gathering at the MacEwan Residence, we will march at noon through the City Centre Campus to show our Intersectional Pride. Different areas of MacEwan University will be represented as we walk along an accessible route. Feel free to come with a group or march on your own with us. Any LGBTQ2S+ and allied individuals are welcome and encouraged to get energized in this parade.
Arrive early for fun activities (crafts, snacks and prizes) hosted by MacEwan Residence.
Pride Week March will end in the Multipurpose Room 6-106, Building 6 (10700 – 104 Ave), where participants can take in the Resource Fair. There will be an opportunity to meet with MacEwan LGBTQ2S+ and allied groups as well as community resources, including the Pride Centre of Edmonton, the CHEW Project, Rarica Now and TEAM Edmonton. The fair takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. For details, contact Jeanette Sabourin at firstname.lastname@example.org or 780-497-5810.
Pride Week March sponsored by Students' Association of MacEwan University (SAMU).
This event is part of Pride Week 2020, when MacEwan University celebrates the diversity of our students, faculty and staff and supports the LGBTQ2S+ community and allies.
We acknowledge that the land on which we gather in Treaty Six Territory is the traditional gathering place for many Indigenous people. We honour and respect the history, languages, ceremonies and culture of the First Nations, Métis and Inuit who call this territory home.
