Join the MacEwan University community to celebrate the diversity of our students, faculty and staff and support the LGBTQ2S+ community and allies.

Activities during MacEwan’s third annual Pride Week range from the opening day Pride march and discussions about relationships and healthy lifestyles, to the outrageous camp and glamour of drag performers. And don't miss our keynote speaker, trans activist Chase Ross.

Pride March

Participants should meet in Room 5-206 by no later than 12 p.m.

Our accessible route will take us through the library, the Centre for Sport and Wellness, the Robbins Health Learning Centre and Allard Hall, ending with a community mixer at MacEwan Residence.

Celebrate the kick-off to MacEwan Pride Week. Walk in unity with the LGBTQ2S+ community and allies of MacEwan University. The event ends with a community mixer at MacEwan Residence.

Tuesday, March 12 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. Pride Games! Christenson Family Centre for Sport and Wellness, City Centre Campus A friendly competition in Sport and Wellness - get your friends together and show your colours! Have a blast - and get some swag!

Pride Week Keynote: Chase Ross

Room 9-323 (Kule Theatre), Robbins Health Learning Centre

Join trans activist, speaker, educator, consultant, academic, and YouTuber, Chase Ross as he helps break down the myths that trans people must pass in order to “be trans”, and how this concept is toxic in and out of the trans community and something that needs to be discussed more in order for people to understand, at least in part, the trans experience.

6 – 7:30 p.m.
Considering “Pride” at MacEwan: a panel discussion Room 9-217, City Centre Campus Panelists and participants will have the opportunity to engage in a conversation about inclusion and intersectionality, and discuss their vision for LGBTQ2S+ people and issues at MacEwan.

4 – 6 p.m.

InQueeries Meeting

Room 7-277, City Centre Campus

Meet your queer peers! We're welcoming everyone, especially those who haven't come out yet! InQueeries is a queer SAMU student club with friendly and supportive people. It's a safe space to be yourself and make new friends. Plus, light snacks and refreshments!

Drag Show

Towers Pub/MPR, Building 6, City Centre Campus

Celebrate Pride Week at this amazing show featuring Edmonton's finest drag performers, the Kings and Queens of the glamorous Imperial Sovereign Court of the Wild Rose! Hosted by comic Nadine Hunt.
A safe space for you to come dressed to impress in your best drag. Plus, rainbow drink specials!
Pay what you can at the door - all proceeds go to the Pride Centre of Edmonton's Trans Youth initiatives and Homeward Trust.

Resource Fair

Main floor, Buildings 6 and 7, City Centre Campus 

Hear about more ways to connect with the LGBTQ2S+ community through these external and internal community organizations, and pick up some Pride merchandise to show your support while you're at it!

InQueeries: Trans and Non-Binary MeetUp Room 7-143, City Centre Campus Safe Space and community building, social time for students who identify as Trans and Non-Binary. Come mingle with your trans, non-binary, gender non-conforming, genderqueer peers! We're welcoming everyone! InQueeries is a queer SAMU student club with friendly and supportive people. It's a safe space to be yourself and make new friends.
