MacEwan University has once again launched its annual Pass It On campaign.
The campaign invites the university’s newest grads (along with their friends and families) to contribute to future students in two ways: with advice and with scholarship funding.
All alumni – whether they’re new grads or attended MacEwan decades ago – can provide their best tips for navigating university by visiting the Pass It On website, or posting to social media with the hashtag #TheNextYou.
They can also contribute to the Alumni Legacy Fund, which supports scholarships, awards and bursaries for future students. The goal is to raise $19 for each member of the Class of 2019, and this year, donors are getting a little help – MacEwan’s Alumni Office has pledged to match each donation, dollar for dollar.
“Graduating is a huge milestone, and the Pass It On campaign is way for our graduating class to extend a helping hand to current students and say ‘you can do this too, and we’ll help you get there,’”says Michelle Stevenson, director of Alumni and Development. “The Alumni Office applauds this gesture of support, and is proud to be matching these donations to bolster the impact of our graduating class’s generosity.”
Donations can be made online, or in person at the Alumni booth during convocation ceremonies.
Grads who donate $19 will also receive a commemorative silver tassel to wear atop their mortarboard during convocation, and to take home as a keepsake.
