MacEwan appoints associate vice-president, Research
Dr. Craig Kuziemsky has been appointed as MacEwan University’s new Associate Vice-President, Research.
An accomplished researcher and administrator, Craig has been a faculty member at the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa (U of O) since 2007. Now a full professor, he also serves as director of the U of O’s Master of Health Administration program, where he has focused on developing innovative and collaborative partnerships to provide new interdisciplinary research and teaching opportunities for faculty and students.
Craig's research focus has been on the management of healthcare innovation and collaborative healthcare delivery. As a result of his outstanding research and his extensive record of publications and funding, he was named as the University of Ottawa Young Researcher of the Year in Social Sciences and Humanities in 2013 and was awarded a University Research Chair in Healthcare Innovation in 2016.
Craig holds a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science, a BComm from the University of Alberta, and a PhD in Health Information Science from the University of Victoria.
In his role, Craig will be responsible for supporting scholarly activity for faculty and students across all disciplines at MacEwan. Under his direction, the university will foster research that aligns with our vision and strategic objectives, and enhance and develop research funding partnerships and relationships with government, business and community stakeholders.
As leader of MacEwan's Office of Research Services (ORS), he will oversee the development and implementation of frameworks, policies and initiatives to promote a culture of excellence, innovation, transparency and collaboration in the ORS to nurture and support all aspects of the university’s research portfolio. Craig will also provide senior administrative support for MacEwan's ongoing commitment to internationalization and experiential learning.
Craig will begin his appointment on September 1, 2019.
